What happens if a hard moment begins in the air?

Most of the work happens before the flight. That is what the plan is for. But some moments can't be scheduled, and that is exactly why a specialist is aboard. Your specialist responds in the moment, drawing on professional judgment and the plan you built together. Two things never change: nothing is forced, and the captain's authority stays intact. We don't promise a script, because every traveler and every moment is different.

Do we have to share a diagnosis to start?

No. No diagnosis detail is required to begin a conversation. We build the plan around how the traveler actually experiences a flight, not around a label, and we share only what a given trip requires.

How discreet is this?

Discretion is the default. We treat every inquiry confidentially, coordinate quietly with you, your household, or your family office, and keep the support unobtrusive in the cabin.

Who is actually in charge on the aircraft?

Every flight has one person in charge of the aircraft: the captain, known in aviation as the "pilot in command." By federal law (14 CFR 91.3), the captain has the final say on anything affecting the safety of the flight, and that does not change when a specialist is aboard. Your specialist briefs the captain on the traveler's plan and recommends what helps, but the captain always makes the decisions.

No. Neither format produces an FAA certificate, and nothing from Ethos Aloft is an independent or third-party certification.

Does the Air Carrier Access Act require this for us?

No rule requires this training. The ACAA (14 CFR Part 382) was written for commercial airline service, and how far it reaches into on-demand charter and fractional operations is limited and fact-specific. We're glad to talk through how it applies to your operation, alongside your own counsel. Either way, this is a voluntary commitment to service quality and a risk-mitigation step, not a compliance mandate.

IBCCES sells an Autism Certified Airline program to commercial carriers (Emirates trained 30,000+ crew and ground staff under it), and Autism Double-Checked certified JSX. Ethos Aloft brings that approach to corporate aviation, built for the full neurodivergent umbrella rather than autism alone.
